Courteous Attendant, Botherless Children
bla bla bla July 29th, 2007How do you pronounce the word “cour·te·ous”? /ˈkɜrtiəs/- [kur-tee-uhs] The apostrophe and the bold word signify stress on that syllable, which means we tend to utter the word with a louder and longer tone. So, what is courteous, anyway? In dictionary.com, it is an adjective that brings the meaning of having or showing good manners; polite. Now, why do I want to talk about this value?
This is why. I saw a worker from the King’s Confectionery, basically it’s a bakery shop whom delighted me with his courtesy towards the elderly. He helped an old lady (perhaps in her 70’s) to walk from the shop to a black Toyota Vios after purchasing breads there. This is the first time I see such a situation. Too bad that I do not have any camera to capture that moment.
What is running in my mind is that, why did the old lady went into the shop on her own in the first place? I even saw some people in the car! I guess those are her children! None of them can buy the breads on behalf of her or at least accompany her! Knowing that she needs assistance in walking. Sigh.
Anyway, time to continue with my work. Chiaoz ![]()

you know sometimes the eldery are quite stubborn and would insist on walking themselves and wouldn’t hesitate to give a piece of their mind if you force yourself. perhaps with a stranger doing offering help, she’ll hesitate on doing so and find it hard to refuse their offer. just my 2 cents worth
