Happy Holiday

To whoever who reads my blog, especially my fellow lovely coursemates, holiday is up and people already gone back to their respective hometowns, except for those of the locals (Selangor/Wilayah Persekutuan). 3 months of break, I’m gonna work for sure and already grab the vacancy. Brilliant, I am. (Yea, I know.) What about you people? Any plans?

Oh yeah, speaking of plans, I’m terribly sorry for I can’t make it for the Oct 20th’s meeting. I’ll be in Bangkok by then. (On holiday mah.) Sigh. I just couldn’t recall about my holiday trip when we’re discussing the dates. Such a big fat ass forgetful person.

Anyway, keep in touch okay? MSN, SMS, calls, blogs, whatever. I’ll see you guys when I’ll see you guys. I’m going home 12 hours from now. Chiaoz ;)

Not a good one

Doo doo doo ~ Life sucks sometimes. Here’s how it works:

When bad things happen, they usually come by consecutively.

When they’re so consistent, you’ll have sleepless nights.

When you don’t sleep, tired-ness be one of the reasons you don’t entertain others.

When you’re tired, lazy-ness come bugging you.

Eventually, nothing good will ever happen.

Live with it and life goes on.

That’s the reality.

I’m not a good person.

I’m a rebel.

I’m easily provoked.

I think too much.

I take things for granted.

I don’t care enough for people.

I don’t do things up to an expected standard.

I suck.

I don’t give anymore damn thing to this.

I’m going home.

Lantern Session at Taman Jaya

You know, we, consist of myself, Michelle, Amy Chin, Ah Chee, Ian, Kah Joon, Sue Sin, Carmen, Shan and her friends, went to a lake park in Taman Jaya to celebrate the Lantern Festival.

So what’s Lantern Festival? It’s also known as Mooncake Festival, or rather more formal; Mid Autumn Festival. I’ve just glanced through some websites about this occasion and I found there’s so many variations of story! No wonder there’s so many people telling all sorts of stories. Oh boy, which is the exact one? We even discussed it last night and Carmen came up with the story that I knew too. It was about a message which had been put into the mooncake to deliver to some prisoner? Errh, I don’t really remember it though. Haha. Well, internet helps in this case :P

Anyway, we found a good spot to sit and also to hang the candles on the closest trees. And you know what? There were so many groups of people there, sitting in their respective groups with their own lantern-decorating creativity. Yea, mostly chi-eds! Haha, I’m not discriminating but it’s a traditional thing, and no, it’s not religious. So what I meant was that mostly Chinese will celebrate this festival. The small ones will just get the lanterns and candles from their parents and start to play them like nobody’s business. Haha.

The best thing was; we had lotsa fun lighting the candles, hanging the lanterns, and chit-chatting. And Carmen brought some mooncakes, two actually, one of it was home-made. Taste good. Sue Sin and Amy Chin went back early, I think they were bore to death! Haha. I guess they’re tired and needed to rest. And so, the rest of us sat there until 12am. If I don’t have to be home before 1am, I think we’ll stayed up even later.

Here’s some pictures.

LRT trip to Central Market

We’ve long waited for this day (Friday, 14th Sept) to meet Carmen’s friend, Fahmi Reza, an independent film maker and other film makers as well. So, we went to Central Market (the building after Central Market actually) where the freedom film fest took place. It’s so crowded. “Sambutan yang amat hangat”, said Kah Joon. Haha.

Well, it was an eye opener to all of us. We get to know the untold stories of our history. Do you know what’s ‘hartal’? It’s a mass protest against the government. Google it and you shall find where the word derived from.

In Fahmi Reza’s movie (10 tahun sebelum merdeka), ‘hartal’ is introduced to us (the ones who have never heard of this term) and it was used by all the unions (everybody, at that time) to strike against the federation constitution (perlembagaan persekutuan) because it’s based on race. People fought for another constitution, known as citizen constitution (perlembagaan rakyat) which was fair for everybody, but the British representatives, advisors from the Conference of Rulers and Malayan political leaders forced the people to accept federation constitution. Anybody who against it will be caught by the “dictators” and that’s when state of emergency happened.

So yea, that’s about hartal. We didn’t get to see this word in history textbooks nor hear it from anyone. We are very much retarded by the government’s education system. Not being revealed the truth about the history, aren’t we supposed to know about our own country’s past? Maybe these stories will erupt controversies and repeat, but wouldn’t that be a lesson for us all to learn and proceed to develop a better country? I feel somewhat shameful not knowing the truths of our beloved tanahair.

Most of the people here in Malaysia do not really care about the history. What’s history to them? They said, what’s passed is past. Try asking them what merdeka means to them. They said, it’s all about Tunku Abdul Rahman shouted “Merdeka!” for seven times at Stadium Merdeka on 31 August 1957. That’s all about it, not wanting to know more about it, either before or after merdeka and that’s what appeared in textbooks. What’s citizen constitution? What’s federation constitution?

Anyway, there were three other clips. One of them was made by Eunice and her fellow friends, Singaporeans, which talked about Chin Peng, the Communist. They spent two years and about 30k sing dollar in search of Chin Peng, but they didn’t manage to find him but his fellow comrades. They were showed by them where they usually hid in the woods and also how they survived. The other video was Idiot Nation. You see it in YouTube. Click on the link here to see. And lastly, an Aljazeera’s talk show with two history researchers about the Japanese Occupation during the second world war. River Kwai? Familiar?

I’m so into history right now. I used to hate history, as in the subject, because we’re only exposed the good side of the history and we had to memorize them for the sake of exam. The worst thing is, I have short-term memory lost, so I don’t remember and yea, I’m too lazy to remember them. lol.

So uhh, I think I should stop my blog here. I need to study for tomorrow’s exam; Semantics. Chiaoz ;)

Happy 44th Birthday, Malaysia

16 September, mark of the 44th year of the formation of Malaysia, which includes Federation of Malaya, Sabah and Sarawak. It’s called “Hari Malaysia”.

  • Why isn’t anybody celebrating this day?
  • Are they ignoring it just because “Hari Merdeka” says it all?
  • How many people would actually care about the history of Malaysia?
  • Aren’t we proud of the historians who formed Malaysia at that time?
  • How do those East Malaysians feel when 16 September is being ignored?
  • If they feel discontent, why isn’t anybody voice them out?
  • What is the action taken?
  • Who can answer my questions?

Sigh. This is unfair.

Ipoh Old Town Cafe

Since Kor and I were going to look for my sister, Jessica, in Bangsar. We decided to dine at one of the food store in Bangsar, instead of the ones in PJ, yea, got bored of it already.

“There. Ipoh Old Town. Looks good eh? Try eat here lah ok? Ahh, okok.”

Food was not-too-bad, but was rather expensive. I had Super Noodle (as in the picture shown below) with some slices of sotong which placed so nicely that they looked like slices of abalone! Haha. Kor had only a bowl of fishballs, and he only ate half of it, as to what he’d said “I’m not suppose to eat.”

Ipoh Old Town

The actual signboard is an old-school one with Chinese characters, but there wasn’t enough of lights, so it’s dark and I’ve edited it. Looks odd though. Haha.

Super Noodle

Yum Yum.

Do you want to be mind-wobbled?

If so, then watch this movie. I got this link from my Critical Thinking’s lecturer, my big big sis. Haha.

http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/

Anyway, I’m warning you that the Christians might not be mind-wobbled, but disturbed, instead. She said in this movie, a number of the so-called truths of religion, particularly Christian, is being de-constructed. Many question marks will appear once you watch it.

So uuhh, yeah, it sort-of gave me another point of view to see things. Made me think more than a lot. Made me think feel stupid over some things.

You just have to see for yourselves. Enjoy!

P/S: It might takes a long time to buffer, depending on your connection. If it doesn’t buffer smoothly or stuck, do refresh the page, please.

I just want to rant

What a lovely Saturday morning, got up as early as 8am. Feeling hungry, I made a cup of coffee and munched on some biscuits. Feeling a little tedious, I’ve gotten myself hooked on a game (what else if it’s not Warcraft?) for almost 2 hours. I lost to the other player in a game of ‘tower defense’ due to an unplanned constructions of towers. It was for me to procrastinate, or rather wasting my precious time when I needed to study for exams. But heck, who cares? I do! Haha! A game or two won’t fail me in exams. lol.

So, back to the story. I’ve got a call from Tony whom asked us (myself and you-know-who) for a lunch since he’s in PJ. We agreed and went for a food-munching galore at Paramount Garden. Three of us had the not-too-flavourless claypot rice. (I still prefer the one in Ming Tien Foodcourt, Taman Megah.) We talked a lot about the coming exams, the most impactful subject (none of than Critical Thinking, applauds!) and needless to say, we surely chatted about the amazing aquatic creatures, one of them was Arowana. Nothing else but fishes and also reptiles like turtles and tortoises. As usual, Mr. Lam, our fishmonger, oops, no, it’s fisherman, uhh, no, it’s a fish expert, will talk about. Hehe.

After a while we took a stroll in the fish shop nearby, I think it’s one of the place he used to be visiting for god knows how long. Anyway, saw some fishes, tortoises and turtles too. He said he’s like our tour guide, explaining to us from ways to take care of a fish to their unique scientific names. Haha. He’s very indulged in things like this, an interesting hobby, I would say. I’m pretty much enlightened of the facts he told me. I hope they’re true because I won’t be doing any research to prove that he’s wrong. Haha.

Anyway, cut the crap. He sent us home after that. Here’s the so-called climax though. The old hag suddenly exploded with some stinking comments. I’ll translate what she’d said:

Turn off every single switch whenever you leave the house. This is the second time I’m telling you this. If there’s any third time, I’m going to cut off RM10 for each person from the deposit money. I’m not letting the two of you to burn down this 40-year-old house. Have you ever think of the others in the house? What will happen if the house is on fire?

Well, I didn’t actually stand there to listen to her, I was walking towards upstairs and just nodded all the way. I didn’t mean to be rude. But, I couldn’t take it no more, I just don’t want to listen to her babbling away. She and her conservative way of thinking. Just because I’m going out with a car this time, therefore she thinks that I’ll leave the house for a super duper long time.

What’s wrong with it? Don’t you think I’m so stupid to leave the switches on and get scoldings from you? Will the electricity go haywire only when times I left the switches on? Don’t you think a short circuit won’t happen when you’re sleeping? If so, you would’ve been a burned corpse way before I started staying here. She has always been using the “I-ate-more-salt-than-you-ate-rice” theory just because she is a somewhat experienced person. (Yea, a thoughtless old hag, that is.)

I’ve been through this once, months ago. She checked my room every single time I leave. I can just tell her not to check since it’s my privacy and I paid for the room. That argument somehow flawed in a sense that she’s still the landlady who lives under the same roof. She has the rights and wants everyone to be safe but she has put it in a wrong way. Fine with that. In fact, she didn’t mention it anymore after that, maybe she thinks that I’m obeying her rules.

Now that I’ve got a room mate, she’s beginning to be strict again. Stricter, I guess. She caught us for not turning off the electricity and also the fan on the previous night. We usually will leave our desktop and laptop on while we grab our lunch or dinner which won’t take a long time. I didn’t realize that the fan was actually on because I went down before my room mate and she didn’t turn the fan off. The old hag, started to bitch out her words, I can only listen and walked towards the staircase, reaching to my room.

Well, I’m going slightly off track now. Let’s get to the bottom line. I just want to live in a peaceful way. Not wanting to be complained by an unknown old hag who I hate so much. I think I want to get another place to rent. Same area, I hope, but with a different environment. No fucking old hags, no curfew, nothing. Should or shouldn’t I move out? That’s the question of the day.

Arghh. Typed too much! Grr.

I WANT TO PLAY FOOSBALL! I WANT! I WANT!
