FIRST TIME VOTING!
politics No Comments »Weather forecast told us how is the weather would be on the polling day. And yeah, “rain drops keep falling on my head”.
Three of us (two of my sisters and myself) went to Jit Sin school to cast our ballots. Tan Teik Cheng and Tan Cheok Heng were there. I even saw the van driver who was once fetch me to the primary school that I’d been! She helps the BN. Also met one of my former student’s (those little kids from kindergarten) mother.
So, the feeling for me as a first-timer-voter was awesome. Exciting as it is, I wonder how the paper will look like. Beyond my expectations, both the ballots were in tones of orange, one darker than the other. Two boxes there to X out your choices. I X-ed out the same party for both state and parliament seats.
Yay! Exercised my democracy right. To people who didn’t register to vote (except for those 22-year olds), you are only a disgrace to yourselves. Not going to elaborate more but yeah, serves you right if you ever face the negative consequences. Well, to people who didn’t vote but registered, you are one hopeless creature. Ignorant as you can be but people like you spoil the election. Seriously.
Oh yah, I was a little confused. How come we’re using pencils to mark the X? And how come there is a serial number on the ballot? What do all these mean? Both Kah Joon and I are frustrated. *scratching heads*
