When you received a call from a man, he said “Let me talk to your mother.” and you had no idea what’s going on and you’ve heard a girl yelling for help as the background voice. Your mother then talked to him and he told her “I’ve got your daughter.” and funny thing was the daughter was all the while at home, safe and sound. Your mother kept on talking and asking what does he want. He said “I want five thousand ringgit.” The negotiation went on, she’s trying to get more information but to no avail. It’s totally a nuisance. As the receiver of the call, you’re safe at home. As the person said to be kidnapped is also safe at home. As the mother, you’d wonder “my daughter is safe at home, you must have been dialed the wrong number.”

The question is, is this a prank or is this real?

It’s a scam. Double/triple check with neighbours, police officers, authorities, anybody. Stay steady and just don’t fall into the trap.

Got this forwarded email from my sister. I thought I should share this with you guys. It’s about the ring-finger. Kinda meaningful.

There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese.

Thumb represents your Parents
Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings
Middle finger represents your-Self
Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner
and the Last (Little) finger represents your children

Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together – back to back

Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb – tip to tip

Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents), they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later.

Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings), they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.

Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children), they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day.

Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse).

You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives – through thick and thin!!

Amazing eh? How can they thought of this? Lol. Scientifically, isn’t it because of the linking nerves? Try bending the middle finger now, fourth finger will follow too.

The struggle begins when you jump out of bed tomorrow morning. Best to sleep rather than worrying so much for it and forgetting what you’ve revised. All the best, guys and girls.

Earth Day leh today. What have you done?

Ha? Earth Day so what? Takkan la only today we have to jaga the Earth? Everyday also must jaga right?

Yalo, true true. Like Earth Hour la. Only jaga for that one hour, haha.

Haha. No la, start small ma. If start big then too drastic, people cannot follow.

Eh later they come up with Earth Week la, Earth Month la, Earth Year! Haha.

No la, crazy meh, how to finish? Don’t know what I read also. Haih.

Me too, really scared to face the questions. Later all structured then die.

Yah, sure die. She said the format remains, but then it’s different from one semester to the other. Tipu wan la.

Dah la she dowan to give us tips, at least tell la which topic to focus. That also cannot.

Flashes of lightning are temporal like come and go and then come and go. Many other things are temporal as well, like feelings. Well, temporal could have a few meanings depending on how you define it. Let’s say you’ve a crush on this somebody but the other party is already attached. So you keep the feelings in you and slowly it fades. Now isn’t that temporal? And a few years later, you both met and this time you wouldn’t be the third party if you’d pursue your feelings toward him/her. See the feelings come back and you go all excited to looking forward in seeing each other but didn’t want to commit because you think it’s not the right time. So you keep the feelings in you again and slowly it fades again. Just like lightning, come and go, come and go. Sometimes, it’s just best to maintain the friendship, enough said.

Anger is temporal too. When I’ve got something that I wanted to do but I couldn’t due to some inconvenience, I’d be agitated. But after awhile the stress be gone. I think you’ve gone through this many times and I did too. Sometimes when I think back, it’s just plain idiot to be angry cos there’s zero benefit. Anger kills the cells in your body. Anger makes you to suffer and die from cardiac arrest. Anger causes cancers. Google up if you want to know more. Not only that, anger makes you miserable too. If you’re moody all the time, who’s gonna approach you? Else you want to stay alone, fine. The point is, don’t get irritated over small matters, find possible solutions can save you all the unnecessary time.

It’s doubtless that some Chinese (esp from chi-ed background) are biased. If they ever encounter the non-native speakers of Mandarin/Cantonese like us, they’ll have this certain kind of weird perception on you which I kinda noticed. It’s noticeable, definitely it is. You’ll see it from their eye-contact, attitude and basically it’s revealed from the way they treat you. I kinda hate that kinda discrimination, a lot. Not only to speaking English that they felt weird, but also when we spoke Malay. They reacted like as if it’s impossible for Chinese to speak Malay among themselves. Now what’s wrong with speaking Malay? Such idiotic ideology. Sigh for these people. Plus, they even showed their ‘lan seng’ face when we got into that so-called money-sucking lair. Zzzzz whatever.

1st of April is like any other day. Wonder what it really means by “April Fool’s Day.” Looked it up in Wikipedia and there’re few origins to it. Some said it’s the first day of the year in France. Some said people replaced it as the first day of summer (1st of May). Some even said it’s from the Canterbury Tales. The history of it evolves from one era to another. Go read up more about it, it’s kinda fun knowing the different stories of April Fool’s Day.
