Walt Disney

Something funny happened during lesson today.

Scene: In the middle of a dictation.

Teacher was dictating “… a popular cartoon by Walt Disney.”

Teacher: Now who can tell me about Walt Disney.

Pupil 1: Walt Disney is a brand of clothes.

Pupil 2: It’s a cartoon.

Pupil 3: It’s a company that show cartoons on tv. [not a bad answer]

Pupil 4: Walt Disney is a name of a channel on Astro. [haha]

Teacher: All wrong!! Walt Disney is a name of a person!!

Pupils: Ooohhhh! I know.

Lol.

Sick

Having a tough time doing this! The solutions are there, so obvious! Why can’t they see them? This is really a heart-breaking scene. Super sigh. Maybe we should just give them those solutions instead. Zzzzzz

Responsibility

How much do we have to do to ensure they can be high flyers if there isn’t enough effort from themselves? Do we only facilitate them to find solutions or do we have to show them the way out?Does the monthly contribution force them to think that they should transfer the responsibility to others? Is their mind filled with tonnes with confidence that they do not believe in multiple-checking before submission? How difficult would it be to answer a simple question? How much time does it take to make sure answers are all correct?

Why is this happening?

inConsistency

Sometimes it’s also about consistency. As a teacher, we should treat all pupils the same and not change that treatment from time to time. Why? Humans are like this, they tend to take advantage of what benefits them the most. So, if I’m rewarding the class with stars and stickers on a daily basis, or if I’m a strict and firm teacher, then I should keep that culture throughout the year. It’s part of being fair. Tha’ts being the doer. It’s the same for the other party. I wouldn’t want my teacher to be kind and caring today but a nasty devil the day after.

Get it, get it? Consistent.

Honey-thoughts

Like the saying goes, take the impossibilities positively. There’s nothing to lose if we see things in the positive way, right? Instead of being down about it, there are other better ways to solve a problem.

For example, two people quarelled over something. One at fault, the other was the victim. Now, of course the one at fault should never make things worse by acting negatively but to find out the roots of all causes. After finding them out, the offender should start to spread lots honey-thoughts onto the particular piece of bread. And not being sappy about it. That’s how one should handle it.

Mechanical thoughts

Certain things do evolve. No doubt, that’s very true. But then again, i believe they don’t evolve in the same way. They never will even though the subjects are of the same kind. The nature of a thing will never ever be the same unless they are mechanical. Humans are not mechanical. I am not mechanical. You are not mechanical too. Why make things becomes so mechanical as how you expect it to be?

Enough or not?

It’s becoming worse, I felt it. If that’s how you want it to be, by all means I’ll give you the blessings. Too much of tolerance will soon make me go kookoo. Is there too much to ask for? Is there too little ’til it becomes so insignificant? I do hope you’d change, please. Sigh.

Stranger than fiction

I feel the earth moved under my feet, I feel the sky’s tumbling down~!

Not literally but figuratively (only the first phrase though).

Comfort zone kills, trust me.

I was in my comfort zone until I came to notice that something is seriously wrong. Things are getting loose. I began to feel the hesitancy, the insecurity. I have doubts in certain issues. On one hand, I thought it was too sensitive to discuss, but on the other hand, I thought if the problem is not solved then it’s gonna bring more and more troubles. How now? It’s been quite some time now and I began to realise the highlight became something else. Before it was filled with lots of excitement and now, it’s getting lesser.

Sigh.

The [Funny] Binary Day

Ok. Here’s the thing. Today’s a happy day. Why? I’m going meet my family members at Ipoh! Yay!

The usual thing to do is to give the car a body-engine check-up. After it’s done, the car is good to go. My bil and I are still on our way up to another haven of good food.

What’s upsetting was to see the temperature kept rising. We pulled over for awhile and continued our journey after that. Then this time the tempature was at its peak. Scary. Pulled over again and here comes the funny part!

Bro remembered that he had forgotten to close the cap for one of the water outlet! How funny that was! Searched in the car for water but there were not a single bottle of water. Lucky thing Plus Perondas saw us and helped with the water supply. Another uncle, I believed he’s one of the perondas too, came all the way from the opposite direction. He gave a good tip that we should not pour the water into the engine immediately as we need to let it to cool down or else some of the parts will be damaged.

Yep. So, that’s the funny thing happened on a binary day. 

Significance of a 5 sen coin

Some people see 5 sen as junk just because the value is very little. Some people keep 5 sen coins because they know it is useful.

How significant does a 5 sen coin to you?

It makes a lot of different to a coffee shop owner. It sure does.

I had dinner at a nearby food court and found something rather amusing.

Normally, we order some drinks the moment we find a place to sit. Yes? Right. Then we pay when the drinks are served.

Now, in my case, the bill came and it was RM8.85, RM4.20 for each Air Tebu Medium (we had two cups of that) and RM0.45 for the 5% govt tax. I paid RM10, expected to get back RM1.15 as change. (Sounds like answering Maths paper ^^)

So, instead of RM1.15, he gave me RM1.10 as he didn’t have enough of 5 sens to be distributed around. FINE.

NOW. IMAGINE.

RM0.05 X 200 tables = RM10 (say this is for an hour)

What if it is for the whole day and night? (Say 18 hours)

RM10 X 18 hours = RM180

RM180 X 30 days = RM5400

RM5400 FOR NOT GIVING that 5 sen because workers did not carry as much with them to be given out as change? because it is of the very little value?

Free money from the consumers, a.k.a. US.

Significant or not at all?

Think again.
